Enjoy Hancock County
Hancock County has something to offer anyone interested in finding a variety of resources for recreation: parks, festivals, trails and a growing arts scene. The HJ Ricks Centre, which was recently refurbished was a 1946 ArtDeco/Art Moderne-style movie house now serving as Greenfield, IN’s performing arts theater.
Greenfield is also where Hoosier Poet James Whitcomb Riley grew up and features his Victorian-style childhood home. The Riley Home and the adjacent Museum provide many artifacts of Riley’s life and the Civil War Era as well as a glimpse into the origin of his works.
